The new Diversified Communications’ event will feature sustainable living, food and beauty products as well as an Eco Theatre Innovation Zone showing new products, regional zones and see the launch of the new Eco & Organic Awards Iberia.
It is expected the combined events will attract around 400 exhibitors, with around 20 percent taking part in the Eco Living Iberia show.
Exhibitors and delegates will be able to make the most of the show’s location in Madrid, which is accessible to producers from across Spain and Portugal, as well as good weather in June, said Project Manager Susana Andres.
“Over two years of research showed this show was a possibility for the Spanish market, as it is the biggest producer of organic produce in Europe and fourth in the world.
“One of the main strategies of the Ministry of Agriculture is to help producers in Spain, and they feel that having a dedicated international trade show is best for the market. It is easier for a buyer to come to Spain and meet 400 different producers, than visiting them individually,” she explains.
Francisco Javier Maté, sub-director general - differentiated quality and organic agriculture at Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed: “Having a professional fair in Spain specifically for organic agri-food products is one of the actions included in the National Strategy of Ecological Production 2018-2020, prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture.”
Organised by the teams behind the B2B events Natural and Organic Products Europe (NOPE) in the United Kingdom, Nordic Organic Food Fair and Natural Products Scandinavia in Sweden, and Naturally Good Expo in Australia, exhibitors will benefit from exhibition spaces that cost significantly less than similar European shows. Space starts at just €229 per square meter.
The show organizers are expecting a successful launch: "The show will benefit from our established network of European senior buyers and decision makers from our existing shows, who we will invite to the show as VIPs and hosted buyers. In addition, we will run a high profile, a six-month multi-channel marketing campaign in Spanish, Portuguese and English. We also offer a wealth of free marketing support to all exhibitors to promote their products to buyers and retailers before the show through PR, blog posts, direct mail, digital marketing, and social media."
Spain’s organic market is rapidly growing by 22 percent per year, the largest within Europe and the fourth in the world with a total of 40,000 operators, demonstrating just how large the opportunities are for both producers and buyers. Organic fruits and vegetables make up most of Spain’s organic offer. Food is the second biggest export earner in Spain, after tourism.
