Natural Products Expo West, the leading North American annual trade show in the natural, organic and healthy products sector is returning to the Anaheim Convention Center March 5-9 to celebrate its 38thedition. In 2018, the event hosted 3,521 exhibitors representing 132 countries and this year it expects to attract over 85,000 industry professionals to learn and share the latest trends and innovative products, and to discuss how to add value to“organic.”

From sugar alternatives, healthy fats, plant-based foods, probiotics and prebiotics, CBD from organic-grown hemp, convenient foods that nourish, more sustainable packaging solutions and suppliers that consider biodiversity, social responsibility and animal welfare, there will be lots of options for visitors and exhibitors at Expo West.

Climate Day at Expo West

Climate Collaborative and New Hope Network have organized a full agenda for Tuesday 5 March to celebrate the 3rd annual Climate Day. Several industry leaders will offer inspirational keynotes, workshops, and the opportunity to network and gather ideas on how companies can take meaningful action to reverse climate change.

Fresh Ideas Marketplace

A fun and dynamic outdoor event, under a white tent by the Marriott Hotel, will offer the atmosphere of a typical farmers’ market, with several vendors showcasing their latest foods and products. It is a great alternative, with an affordable price for startups and small firms, to gain visibility and to establish direct contact with buyers of organic products seeking new launches- and offers buyers a great “warm-up” on the afternoon before the real “marathon” opens at the Expo the next day.

Esca Bona

Esca Bona is a US-based conference that started in 2015 as an event “to engage and serve companies working to create a good food system that is regenerative, nourishing and accessible to all.” It has become a platform where companies discuss, reflect and collaborate in the search for sustainable solutions to continue growing a strong good food movement.

To increase its reach, the organizers have partnered with other events to host Esca Bona conferences in other parts of the United States. One of the four events Esca Bona has planned in 2019 will take place at Expo West on March 8th.

Natural Products Hemp & CBD Summit

As food, a fiber, a supplement, and associated regulations, all you wanted to know about hemp will be discussed at this event. Hemp is now a hot product and this event aims to inform concerning regulations, pioneering brands and the potential this plant offers for regenerating soil, and improving health and wellness.

Herb Walk Tour

A Herb Walk Tour at the Fullerton Arboretum, a beautiful, 26-acre botanical garden on the campus of California State University. The walk is offered by the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA).

KeHE Distributors backs food charity at Expo West

KeHE Cares™, the non-profit foundation of KeHE Distributors LLC, a leading North American distributor of natural and organic specialty and fresh foods, is sponsoring a March 7 food packing event during Natural Products Expo West 2019 in Anaheim, CA, to assist local residents facing challenges in feeding their families. KeHe and its partners will pack 2,000 boxes and provide 100,000 meals to be distributed by the Children's Hunger Fund.

The charitable action comes as KeHE Distributors LLC announced on February 19 that it had renewed its supply agreement with leading food and pharmacy retailer Albertsons Companies as their primary distribution partner for natural, organic and specialty products.

Speaking about the renewed partnership, Brandon Barnholt, president and CEO of KeHE Distributors stated: "Albertsons is a premier U.S. food retailer, their blue-chip portfolio of banners, emerging omnichannel capabilities, and national scale position the company for growth and success. We are very excited and honored to continue to serve them."

In a 2.5-hour effort co-sponsored by Expo West producer New Hope Network and KeHE's CAREtrade® partner, This Bar Saves Lives, KeHE employees and show attendees will be packing the 2,000 boxes containing enough food for 100,000 meals.

Each box will include staples such as pasta, rice, lentils, tuna, macaroni and cheese, canned tomatoes, jerky, applesauce, dried fruit, sunflower butter, and nutrition bars. All food has been donated by KeHE supplier partners, including Annie's Homegrown, Arrowhead Mills, Cadia, Country Archer, Go Go SqueezNutivaPatience Fruit, Peeled SnacksPomiSahale Snacks, SunButter, This Bar Saves LivesTilda and World Finer Foods – DaVinci.

The initiative will be the largest serving event ever held at Expo West as well as the latest philanthropic project by KeHE Cares, the charitable arm of KeHE that promotes serving opportunities by the company's employee-owners. KeHE contributes 10 percent of company profits to KeHE Cares activities, which range from serving in local soup kitchens to creating healthy meal kits for the hungry, building and repairing homes, collecting relief supplies, and providing medical and social assistance to those in need locally and abroad.

"We have always been struck by the contrast between the seemingly endless food supplies at Expo West and the economic need in the surrounding neighborhoods," said Brandon Barnholt. "This event is our effort to address that imbalance and literally put food on the table for local families who may be struggling."

The event will kick off at 7:30 a.m. PST outside of the Anaheim Marriott, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, the location of Natural Products Expo West
