The 6th edition of Natural and Organic Asia, previously known as Natural & Organic Products Asia - NOPA and now owned by UBM Asia Limited, expects more than 9,000 visitors next year when the doors open at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 28-30 August 2019.   

The organic market in Asia is growing and according to the US Organic Trade Associations' Global Organic Trade Guide, it will experience at least a 10 percent annual growth in the next couple of years.

Exhibitor reaction at the 5th show edition that hosted over 250 booths this year and a 24.8 percent more visitors compared to 2017 was positive.

Turkey-based Clemens Blanke of Ecogenic natural cleaning products said he had met a number of contacts including retail buyers at the fair and believes it will be a good outcome.

UK wholesaler-distributor The Health Store returned to the NOPA fair again this year and its Paul Rideout said: "We're very happy with the fair; it's an opportunity to see existing customers and find new customers and new products."

At Finland's Polar Wings organic chicken, founder Arto Jokinen said the company is getting the product on the shelf at City'super Hong Kong and is talking to major retailers Dairy Farm and ParkNShop.

Erick Aponte, Trade Commissioner, Trade Commission of Peru in Hong Kong, said the NOPA 2018 show was a success for the Peru group of exhibitors. "All six exhibitors indicated they were happy with the results and the contacts made at NOPA 2018 and have indicated a strong willingness to return in 2019," he said. It was Peru's first year at the show after it had just opened the Trade Commission office, while the majority of the contacts were new. "We are hoping the show continues to grow and new buyers will attend in 2019 as well," Mr. Aponte added.

Nattawath Teeha of Siam Organic Food Products, Thailand said the company had met retailers and distributors and found a good distributor in Hong Kong and was happy with the show.

 The NOPA trade fair also included the Natural & Organic Asia Best New Products Awards; the excellent Natural Business Forum sessions; the NOPA Live Theatre where exhibitors presented products to buyers and visitors, and networking cocktails.

Organic, natural and functional food, health supplements, coconut products, juices and beverages, and alcoholic beverages were well represented at the NOPA fair. Natural and organic cosmetics was a strong theme, with around 70 exhibitors displaying aromatherapy, skin care, beauty and hair care products.

Distributors, wholesalers, and brokers were well represented again this year, among them Pear & Carrot, which specializes in Swedish products, Tembo Foods, Jireh, Welspring, Awesome Foods, and The Health Store (UK).

Retailers exhibiting included Organic Plus, SpiceBox Organics, and Food For Life Emporium. Exhibitors told OWN that they were happy with the show.
