Australia’s annual organic expo has a new name and theme, Sustain, for the two consumer days, and Sustain Trade Oceania, for the trade day, two events that will showcase what’s at the cutting edge of all aspects of sustainable living. The event will be held on 20–22 July at the Royal Hall of Industries at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter. Around 200 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors are expected at the show, with most companies in the organic, fairtrade and sustainable industries supportive of the new concept and its bigger picture, show organiser Lena Smeaton of Smeaton Hackett Events said.
The 10th Natural Products Expo Asia will take place at Hall 3F-G, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23-25 August 2012, hosting an exhibition area of 6,000 m2 to encompass the finest natural and organic products sourced from around the world including food & beverage, dietary supplements, natural and raw ingredients, cosmetics and skin care products, spa facilities supplies, and more. Riding on the success in the last edition, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise will join hands with the organizers again in forming the New Zealand Pavilion as well as sponsoring the first night’s Welcome Reception. With the natural and organic products boom in Asia in recent years, wide arrays of products and companies can be found in the coming Expo Asia.
Organisers of FoodAsia2012, to be held at Singapore Expo, 17-20 April, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), said the event offers five specialized trade shows – FoodAsia, Bakery&Pastry, HotelAsia, HospitalityStyleAsia and HospitalityTechnology. The 17th biennial FoodAsia2012 will feature a large international mix of food and drinks ranging from raw ingredients to ready-to-eat products and will provide trade professionals in the food and beverage industry with a diverse platform for their sourcing needs. “With Asia remaining as one of the main markets with great potential for further growth, opportunities abound for businesses,” SES said.
Bio Brazil Fair returns to Sao Paulo on June 24-27 at the Pavilhão da Bienal do Ibirapuera and will run concurrently with Natural Tech, the 8th International Fair of Natural Products, Food and Health. Bio Brazil Fair was specifically developed to attend the needs of producers and manufacturers for an event that offers business opportunities and knowledge exchange. The fair includes Organic Producers, Certifiers, Financial Institutions and Technology Providers.
In 2011, held in Sao Paulo, with 216 exhibitors spread over 7,000 square meters, the two fairs together attracted visitation of 21,700 people during four days. The highlight the retailers, wholesalers, distributors and other sector professionals who flocked to the fair even during weekdays, Thursday and Friday, and there was a 20% increase in this type of visitation. Sales of organic products are growing 40% a year in Brazil and consumption of healthy packaged goods grew 136% in five years.
