Machu Picchu Foods, leading Peruvian supplier of chocolate, cacao and coffee has introduced a unique line of popped quinoa with natural flavors, attracting buyers at BioFach, Expo West and Sial Canada this year. The new products come in mint, strawberry, orange, citrus punch, and coconut flavors, to join the Quinoa covered with 70% Dark Chocolate; the Organic Extruded Quinoa & Rice covered with 70% Organic Dark the Organic Chocolate Bar with extruded quinoa and rice topping and “Quinuachoc” , Instant Organic Quinoa Chocolate, the company has developed over the past two years.

“The new line is a healthier cereal breakfast or to take as snack on the go”, says export manager Esther Paredes. “The maximum temperature reached during the extrusion process is between 100 – 120 C°”. The line can be presented for retail and bulk and the company offers private label programs to meet the requirements of global clients.

Other new introductions include the Nibs with Coconut Sugar and the Organic Almond chocolate candies, both introduced at SIAL Canada this month. “We also receive good comments for our new packaging for retail and the new labels”, said Ms. Paredes. Machu Picchu Foods will be exhibiting at Fancy Foods June 16-19 and Expoalimentaria in the fall.
