Creating shared value
Organic Sierra & Selva creates shared value by facilitating economic and social value for all the parties involved, from the supplier to the customer, thus closely linking corporate success with social progress.
Working in conjunction with experts in agricultural matters, Organic Sierra & Selva teaches the farmers effective methods of organic production as well as ways to improve competitiveness, both in the national and international markets.
Opening new organic production areas in remote places, the company provides work opportunities to the communities while utilizing the soil in a more effective manner. It also stimulates the creation of farmer associations to foster organic production in the most effective way, thus facilitating improvement of the raw material and obtaining better yields, resulting in better prices.
The company provides its farmers with solar panels and light bulbs as a sustainable, healthy and free-of-charge source of electricity. It has also taken active part in the development of improved eco-friendly household stoves with metal smokestacks.
Organic Sierra & Selva has made a great effort to develop new production areas, satisfying the increased demand for quinoa and other super grains in the global market, reclaiming an almost lost cultivation of the Andean grains that enjoy a rich nutritional value.
