From external catering to the organic future, on 10 to 13 February 2016, at the Nuremberg exhibition center, the focus will once again be entirely on the international sector for organic products at the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food, BIOFACH 2016.
Over 2,400 exhibitors will be presenting the diversity of the global organic industry at BIOFACH – 200 of which will be appearing at VIVANESS, the International Trade Fair for Natural Personal Care, will be taking place at the same time and is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Strong sales and increased share of the food and beverage market were seen in organic retail and catering markets in 2014: the USA rose 11%; the vibrant German organic market grew by 4.8 %; France experienced continual growth with sales rising by 10 %; Denmark’s growth is already 8% with a 29% share of turnover; Switzerland’s organic market increased by 7.5%; the Swedish organic market exploded and increased by 38% with a market share of 5.6%; in Italy, total organic product sales were up 17.3%; while the UK market rebounded in 2015 with organic sales growth of 3%.
In 2015, 44,624 trade visitors from 136 countries obtained information at BIOFACH and VIVANESS, a pleasing increase of 5% in visitor numbers, while 2,344 exhibitors (3.6% more than last year) displayed a large range of organic food, beverages, and natural cosmetics/personal care.

Once again at BIOFACH in 2016, separate exhibition areas are dedicated to the themes of wine, olive oil, and vegan, plus organic catering.
The diversity of olive oils along with their producers from different countries is the highlight of the Experience the World of OLIVE OIL. The best oils receive a separate accolade, the Olive Oil Award.
In the Experience the World of WINE, wine-growers from all over the world present themselves to the trade visitors, with a tasting zone as well as the winning wines from the international MUNDUS VINI BIOFACH organic wine award.
The most recent theme at BIOFACH is the Experience the World of VEGAN. For the third time, in 2016, organic + vegan products will be the focus of attention at the world’s leading fair.
Cook + Talk is a special forum for external catering and professional chefs, supported by partner Bioland. Here, in presentations and cooking shows, trade visitors will also discover among others how organic wine and olive oil along with organic+vegan products can be effectively combined and successfully applied in the catering sector.
