NOPA Hong Kong, seen as the gateway to the flourishing Asian natural and organic market, returns for its 4th edition at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wanchai, Hong Kong from Wednesday, August 29 to Friday, August 31, 2018. NOPA is a 'must attend' event for trade buyers of everything from natural healthcare products, natural and organic foods, through to natural personal care and eco-household products, the show's new owners UBM Asia Ltd said.
Euromonitor International estimated that average annual growth rates for Chinese packaged food were 6.6 percent between 2012-17, valued at RMB1.577 billion (US$250 billion) in 2017. Several reports put the value of the Chinese organic food market at between US$2.5 billion to EUR5.9 billion in 2016, while India and Japan also show strong growth.
"Since 2014, Natural & Organic Products Asia (NOPA), a trade-only event, has been the leading platform for all things natural and organic. Last year’s show attracted over 250 exhibitors from more than 31 nations and regions, showcasing thousands of natural, certified, healthy, wholesome and organic products in Hong Kong," the show organizers said.
"NOPA 2018 is set to take a great leap forward. With more exhibitors and more space, the expo will have more room for visitors. NOPA 2018 expects to welcome 9,000 buyers, reflecting the rising demand for natural and organic products in Asia.
Manufacturers and suppliers who attended NOPA 2017 spoken to by Organic & Wellness News (O.W.N) were mostly positive with the optimal buyer, retailer and distributor contacts made and results gained from the show (8 out of 11).
NOPA covers four segments: The Natural Food Show, Natural Beauty & Spa, Natural Living, and Health & Nutrition. This year's NOPA Hong Kong has attracted country and themed pavilions including a strong presentation from Scandinavia; Food From Finland and Swedish country pavilions; Australia; Greece; Italy; Japan; Korea; New Zealand; South Africa; Thailand; the UK; the USA and Peru.
Leading B2B events organizer UBM Asia Limited ("UBM Asia") announced late April that it has agreed to acquire Hong Kong trade events the Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong ("RBHK"), Natural & Organic Products Asia ("NOPA"), and Retail Asia Expo ("RAE") from Hong Kong subsidiary of US-based trade event organiser Diversified.
"The acquisition includes the three-day Natural & Organic Products Asia show, which provides a platform for retailers and importers to discover the latest innovations and trends in natural and organic products. NOPA is popular with suppliers and wholesalers for providing high-quality retailer and buyer contacts in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and Asia," UBM Asia said.
UBM already runs the HOFEX show and has the experience necessary to run the NOPA Hong Kong show and attract more visitors and buyers.
"We are excited about taking on these projects which fit nicely with our existing portfolio in Hong Kong – particularly our biennial HOFEX and ProWine Asia events, and the 2018 launch of Gourmet Asia," says Jimé Essink, president, and CEO of UBM Asia Limited.
