Promens Personal & Healthcare Packaging Division in France has announced that Unilever is building on the success of the Lynx deodorant range (named ‘Axe’ out of the UK market) and expanded this brand into hair care for younger men. Lynx Hair is a new range of shampoos and styling products designed for men. The Lynx Hair wax range is packed in 75 ml black jars with a stylish, masculine design to aid consumer recognition and give the products added prominence on shelf. Promens is a leader in the skin care and hair care market designing and manufacturing cosmetic jars.
The 100% recyclable jar is injected blow-moulded in polyethylene material, available since February 2012 in European supermarkets. Promens’ communications manager Céline Guerreiro explained that the company’s Promens AirFree system (patented bag in bottle airless technology) provides a multi-layer co-extruded bottle: “The external layer is in recycled PE and represents 70% to 85% of the total raw material weight of the bottle,” she said. “The internal multi layer pouch (non-recycled PE) contains a barrier material that blocks all odor migration and also protects the integrity of the formula that is in contact with a virgin PE.”
